It may sound too good to be true. However, recent studies have shown that you can boost your metabolism while you sleep with specific foods and have extra energy and great muscle tone.
Dr. Steve Farrell from the University of Dallas has proven that muscle tone decreases in women when they hit their mid to late thirties or in the premenopausal age. This is scary news because less bone density and bone mass means it’s more likely for you to have falls and break or fractures.
It is suggested for strong bones and a firmer and thinner waistline to simply eat the following foods and get plenty of rest. Whole grain foods such as barley, brown rice, wheat bran and oatmeals play a huge part. Not only whole grain foods but also citrus fruits, dairy, and spicy foods cause your body to work hard to digest, so it burns more calories while sleeping.
It is also believed that green tea or herbal teas increase your metabolism and because of thermogenic properties can help break down fat cells. It has been said that flavonoids that are drinking from the tea help increase metabolism and lead to a smaller waistline.
Another great thing to do is keep it cold in your bedroom while you sleep if your body is having to work all night to raise your body temperature that is burning calories.
