Costing US$816 per scoop, the Black Diamond is the world’s most expensive sundae. Zubin Doshi spent five weeks crafting the dessert, and had ingredients flown in from all over the world.
The exotic sundae consists of Madagascar vanilla ice cream, Iranian saffron and sliced black Italian truffle, topped with 23K edible gold. Customers at Scoopi Café in Dubai get to keep the Versace bowl and spoon that the ice cream is served in. That partly makes some sense -but not much, right?
Even more ridiculous is the price of the world’s most expensive burger…
London restaurant Honky Tonk, in partnership with Groupon, has created the “world’s most expensive burger” to celebrate the sale of Groupon’s five millionth food and drink voucher.
According to Huh magazine, the ‘Glamburger’ contains the following ingredients: Kobe Wagyu beef, New Zealand venison, Canadian lobster, maple syrup-coated bacon, black truffle brie, beluga caviar and a hickory smoked duck egg. They are stacked between a gold leaf coated brioche bun that is laced with Japanese matcha and cream mayonnaise, garnished with mango and champagne jus and sprinkled with grated white truffle.
The mouth-watering burger costs a whopping US$1,800, and contains 2,618 calories. Obviously, you need to pay attention when you order at the Honky Tonk.
Would you try either?
