Honey and Garlic for Strong Immune System

In our kitchen, we have many ingredients that boost the immune system, like thyme honey and garlic. In fact, the combination of these two ingredients is incredibly effective.

When garlic is immersed in honey, natural enzymes are released, enhancing the beneficial properties of both ingredients:

  • Thyme honey, rich in vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, is one of nature’s antioxidants, fighting free radicals. Even a teaspoon is highly nutritious, and unlike sugar, it does not cause a rapid spike in blood sugar.
  • Garlic contributes to better heart function and blood pressure regulation and fights fungal infections. Most importantly, it strengthens the immune system against viruses and bacteria.

The simplest way to combine these two ingredients is to place 4-5 crushed garlic cloves in a small jar and fill it with 200 grams of honey – ideally, honey with a very high thyme pollen content. Seal the jar and let it sit for about a month to be ready for use.

However, there is another, more refined recipe for honey with roasted garlic.

Ingredients

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the wine and olive oil.
  3. Line a ceramic baking dish with parchment paper.
  4. Peel the garlic cloves and place them on the paper.
  5. Drizzle with the wine and olive oil mixture, sprinkle with salt, and top with a sprig of rosemary.
  6. Wrap the garlic in a small bundle with the parchment paper and place the dish in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the garlic turns golden and its aroma fills the kitchen.
  7. Remove the garlic from the parchment and mash it with a fork along with the olive oil and wine juices.
  8. dd the mashed garlic to the honey, sprinkle in the pepper, mix well, and pour the mixture into a glass jar. Seal the jar tightly.

Keep for at least 2 months.
