FoodsCross brought microgreens and more broadly, the idea of food as both necessity and pleasure for body and mind, to the spotlight at the 1st FOOD & WINE Conference, organised by Hellas Tour and Libertypress.gr.
The event took place on 6 July at Aegean College and focused on innovation in gastronomy and emerging trends in the food and wine industry. It brought together leading professionals, distinguished speakers and an audience that enthusiastically embraced every presentation.
Representing FoodsCross, Ms Aliki Vassilopoulou, co-founder of the company, participated in the session dedicated to power foods. She highlighted the impact and potential of microgreens in contemporary nutrition and gastronomy. Drawing on the valuable expertise of FoodsCross in pure, premium, raw ingredients, Ms Vassilopoulou showcased the nutritional benefits, health-promoting properties and added value of microgreens – both for everyday meals and for creative cuisine.
Microgreens, with their intense flavour, high nutritional density and elegant visual appeal, are emerging as a key element in modern gastronomy. They represent a dynamic trend reshaping the healthy eating landscape and are becoming central to innovative recipes in fine-dining restaurants as well as in the daily diet of those seeking quality and wellbeing.
FoodsCross’s participation in the 1st FOOD & WINE Conference at Aegean College underscored the contribution of microgreens to the development of a healthier, more sustainable and flavourful food model. During the power foods session, the nutritional value, functional benefits and culinary versatility of microgreens were presented in depth. Innovation, quality and knowledge come together in microgreens, offering a comprehensive solution for those wishing to integrate high-value foods into their diets with multiple health benefits.
FoodsCross’s presence at the conference reinforced the importance of promoting high-nutritional-value products, investing in knowledge and awareness, and contributing to the evolution of a more balanced and sustainable food culture.
It is worth noting that FoodsCross cultivates organic microgreens daily in Greece, operating the largest vertical, closed-type organic production unit in Europe. FoodsCross microgreens are harvested, packaged and delivered on the same day, ensuring maximum freshness and preserving their nutritional integrity.
