Boost your immune system with garlic infused honey!

The kitchen holds a variety of immune boosting ingredients, including honey and garlic. The combination of the two sounds odd, but it works!

The best way to combine the healing benefits of honey and garlic is to infuse raw honey into crushed garlic. Crushing the garlic allows its natural enzymes to reach their maximum potential. While soaking garlic cloves in honey will increase its immune boosting power and make it more paratable.

 

Benefits of honey
Thyme honey is full of vitamins, minerals and enzymes. It also acts as an antioxidant to fight off free radicals. HOney contains incredible nutrients packed into just one small tablespoon. Added to that, is the balance of nutrients will not spike your blood sugar like refined sugars do.

 

Benfits of garlic
Garlic helps the body improve heart function, maintain proper blood pressure and fight fungal infections. Most importantly, it helps boost the immune system and fights colds and flu.

How to make the healthy potion:

Place 8-10 minced garlic cloves in the pottom of a half pint jar. Then fill the rest of the jar with premium Greek honey with 60-80% thyme pollen grains.
Set the jar near a south-facing window. For the next month you will see garlic juice releasing into the honey. A month later, it will be ready to use.

However, there is a more sophisticated recipe in case you are interested. It is for honey infused with roasted garlic:

Ingredients:
250 gr. premium Greek honey with a high percentage of thyme pollen grains
30 gr. dry white wine
15 gr. extra virgin oilive oil
10 cloves fresh garlic
1 spring fresh rosemary
Cracked white pepper corns
Sprinkle of sea salt

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
Stir the wine and olive oil together with a whisk.
LIne a ceramic oven dish with baking paper. Peel the garlic cloves and place them in the ceramic oven dish. Pour the wine and the olive oil over the garlic. Then sprinkle it with salt and top it off with fresh rosemary springs.
Close the baking paper into a package and place the dish in the oven.
Roast the garlic for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the cloves are golder and the smell of garlic permeates the kitchen.
Extract the garlic from the baking paper and smash the garlic with a fork, along with the remains of the olive oile and white wine juices. Stir the roasted garlic into the honey. Then add some cracked white pepper.
Pour the result in a jar and close tightly. The infused honey will last for at least 2 months.
